Radiator Hand Wand We at Diesel Dogs LLC are proud to present our new “Radiator Hand Wand”. This new wand was designed to give an operator or mechanic the means to quickly and easily blow out any type of radiator and/or cooler. The wand was designed with five key concepts in mind: Distance, Flexibility, Clearance, Speed, and Hand Fatigue. Distance: Conventional blow-guns and/or wands are not designed for cleaning radiators and/or coolers. They are short and require the user to be in very close proximity to the surface being cleaned. Our radiator hand wand has a total length of approx. 25” with 20 of those inches dedicated to its flexible copper-nickel tubing. Its overall length allows the user to stand as far back as possible while cleaning a machine's radiator and/or cooler, thus reducing the amount of dust and debris the user inhales. Flexibility: Conventional blow-guns and/or wands utilize an inflexible and straight connecting tube (connecting the valve body to the nozzle) that limits the device's performance and functionality. To eliminate this flaw, we designed our radiator hand wand to utilize a flexible copper-nickel connecting tube. This tubing allows the user to quickly flex and bend the wand's shape to accommodate a machine's particular dimensions and clearances. Clearance: There are certain situations where conventional blow-guns and/or wands can not access and perform their intended function due to their shape and design. Our radiator hand wand was designed with clearance in mind. It has a custom manufactured 90 degree four port manifold nozzle that is only 3/4” x 3/4” wide and only 1” long. In conjunction with its slim size, the nozzle was also designed to redirect the air flow 90 degrees from where the copper-nickel tubing connects to the nozzle relative to its output nozzle surface. This allows the user to get the wand into tight places while still applying air directly onto or through the radiator and/or cooler. Speed: Conventional blow-guns and/or wands nozzles only have one output port for air leaving the device. This single port limits the overall amount of area the device can blow air onto or though in a single pass. Our radiator hand wand is equipped with a custom manufactured 90 degree four port manifold nozzle that has four air output ports. This allows for 4 times the amount of area covered in a single pass. Hand Fatigue: To reduce the amount of hand fatigue from extended use, our wand utilizes a different type of operating valve called a sleeve valve. Conventional blow-guns and/or wands use a press and hold type valve that requires the operator to maintain a constant hand pressure on the valve's lever to allow for air flow through the blow-gun and/or wand. This constant pressure leads to hand fatigue. The sleeve valve on the other hand is a ON or OFF type valve. It allows the user to turn on or off the air flow by either sliding the valves sleeve forwards or backwards with very little effort. By eliminating the conventional press and hold type valve and replacing it with the sleeve type valve, the operator gains a fatigue free control over the wand. This new radiator hand wand is one of many new tools that are currently being designed, developed and sold by Diesel Dogs LLC. |
